Arctic Haute Route: Ski & Sail 2019 - Northbound

Welcome to Arctic Haute Route Ski & Sail, wishing old and new guests welcome for three day with fantastic summit-to-sea skiing in Northern Norway.

Sunday Times Travel Magazine joined us on one sailing in 2017, and called it «absurdly enjoyable and the coolest holiday ever». We think this puts it right. On this fantastic adventure cruise we are sailing above the Arctic Circle, tagging along the Atlantic coastline between the Lofoten islands and Tromsø, visiting the region’s most beautiful islands almost made by nature for summit-to-sea skiing.

Be inspired, check out all the fantastic pics and films our guests published on Instagram this spring: #arctichauteroute.

Route and destinations

We will sail with the classic and nostalgic ship, MS Nordstjernen, built in 1956. The size of the ship opens up for a picturesque route along the Atlantic coastline with small and nice harbours. The destinations we are visiting gives a feeling of remote authenticity, with few roads, perfectly preserved old architecture and stunning coastal views. Northern-Norway is fantastic during springtime, with long days with light until 23:00. You cannot plan for the northern lights, but if we are lucky, we will see the Aurora Borealis dance across the sky!

Northbound sailing

We are sailing from Thursday to Sunday to the destinations Lofoten (Svolvær), Andørja, and Kvaløya outside of Tromsø.

  • 21-24. March 2019
  • 28-31. March 2019
  •  4-7. April 2019

If you want to extend your stay in Tromsø for further adventures, we can tailor-make a package of activities and things to do and see such as ski touring Lyngen or around the Tromsø area, dog sledging, a whale safari, hunting for the Northern lights, fishing, kayaking or local culinary & cultural activities. Get  in touch  for more information.
